About Us

Eric Neal

Most people who use a cashbook are not accountants. Neither are they computer programmers who can read the minds of the programmers who wrote the computer program they are using. Mostly they are people working in administration who probably have reasonably good computer skills and generally like working with figures.  Yet so many cashbook programs on the market today are so complicated. Why?  Because programs are usually written with very little thought as to the fact that the people using the program are let’s say ‘ordinary’ people. That’s not to say that programmers are not ordinary; in fact many of them are extraordinary.  Take Sytze for example. He’s the guy in the photo on the left. Now, he’s an extraordinary programmer. He writes some great programs, and the best thing about his programs is that they are easy to use.

So, who is the guy in the photo on the right, and where does he fit into the picture?  His name’s Eric, and he has been looking forever for an easy to use cashbook and couldn’t find one. He owns a payroll bureau and has been looking to diversify his business into accounts processing, but got absolutely frustrated that nothing on the market suited him.

So one day, Eric was sharing his frustrations with Sytze, and Sytze said… ‘Take a look at this simple cashbook that I’ve developed’. Eric thought, ‘Yeah right! Yet another programmer with yet another complex program’.  But ‘no’.  Eric was very impressed. It really was a simple cashbook.  Eric said ‘This is brilliant, Sytze. It’s just what I’ve been looking for. But you know what…  I reckon if we work together on this, we could make it even better. Then we can market it, and we can get feedback from the users, and make changes based on the feedback, and we can make this a really amazing user-friendly program. In fact we’ll make it the best little cashbook in the world’.

And that’s how it all began.  Many months later, King Cashbook was born. We hope you like it.
